title: available tension: 'come out'
concept/choreography and dance: thomas körtvélyessy
music: steve reich "come out", 1967
duration: usually 6 to 15 minutes
description
In »come out« a performer performs makes her or his personal
character-tension available to the public through extended (emotional
and kinaesthetic) presence.
In my case I decided to repeat a spontaneously chosen, very brief movement-motive
and repeat it very freely, following the kinaesthetic and emotional implements
and letting them develop as they will, influencing the performance of
the motive, on and on and on
.
The process can basically take any length.
The music lasts for a maximum of 13 minutes, but the performer is free
to stop earlier or later whenever the total cycle is completed.
